Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Vineyard Greetings, Inc. d/b/a Snapption(“Snapption,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website located at snapption.com and related applications and features (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide to us, via sign-in. Snapption uses Clerk, including Google Sign-In, to authenticate you. Through that process we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not have you set or store a separate Snapption password.

1.2 Photos you upload. Photos you submit are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic’s Claude API) to generate titles, descriptions, captions, and keywords.

1.3 Waitlist signups. If you join a waitlist for a feature we haven’t launched yet, we collect the email address you provide.

1.4 Information collected automatically. Like most web services, our hosting and infrastructure providers log standard technical data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, timestamps, and pages requested — for security and reliability purposes.

1.5 Information from third parties. When you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us in accordance with your Google account settings and Google’s own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including authenticating you and generating the output you request;
  • Send your uploaded photo to Anthropic’s Claude API solely to generate the metadata or captions you requested;
  • Notify you about a feature if you joined its waitlist;
  • Monitor, secure, and improve the Service;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Use;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. Cookies

Snapption uses cookies and similar technologies set by our authentication provider (Clerk) to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We do not currently use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking, and the Service does not show third-party ads.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:

  • Service providers. Vendors who help us run Snapption under contractual obligations to protect your information — our authentication provider (Clerk), our AI provider (Anthropic), our hosting provider (Vercel), and Google (for waitlist storage and Google Sign-In);
  • Legal and safety. To comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Snapption, our users, or others;
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction;
  • With your consent. For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or with your consent.

Snapption does not have public profiles or a feature for sharing your photos or account information with other users of the Service.

5. How We Handle Your Photos

Uploaded photos are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for the sole purpose of generating the metadata or captions you requested. Snapption does not store your uploaded photos on our own servers after your request completes. Anthropic processes the image as part of fulfilling our API request; see Anthropic’s privacy policy for details on how they handle data submitted through their API.

6. Data Retention

Account information (from Clerk/Google Sign-In) is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us below. Uploaded photos are not retained by Snapption beyond fulfilling your request. Waitlist email addresses are retained until we’ve notified you about the relevant feature or you ask us to remove them.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can review your account information through your sign-in provider, and you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or removal from a waitlist, at any time by contacting us using the information in Section 10. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law; we may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf as permitted by law.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information may contact us using the information in Section 10.

9. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

10. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at privacy@snapption.com or PO Box 307, Edgartown, MA 02539.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on the Service and updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
